The older heather is harvested from the hillsides, cut, cleaned, dyed and compressed into a block. The block is then cut and the pieces are shaped, sanded and lacquered. The end result: beautifully colored natural Heathergems, which are then set into Sterling Silver 
and Pewter. Each piece of this Scottish Jewelry is uniquely beautiful, and there are not two alike. Heathergems also uses traditional Celtic Designs, such as the Celtic Knot and Scottish Thistle. Celtic Knots and interlacing are ancient symbols, found on old Celtic Crosses and religious manuscripts. Whether it is a complex interlacing, or a simple knot, the concept is symbolic of eternity; trace any traditional Celtic Knot and you will find that it doesn’t have a beginning or an end.
