The Luckenbooth Earrings get their name from the locked jewelry booths which were situated along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is customary for the Groom to give a Luckenbooth to the Bride on their wedding day. The Luckenbooth was also thought to fend off evil. The M found in some designs is thought to be inspired by Mary Queen of Scots who gave a Luckenbooth to one of her lovers. The Luckenbooth Earrings are 1/2 inch long by 3/8 inch wide. For a stunning set, see Luckenbooth Pendant Necklace OP136 and Luckenbooth Brooch OB116. Sterling Silver, made in Scotland.
