The Heart Pendant Necklace was cast using at least 10 percent Cornish Tin from the SS Liverpool which sailed from Penzance in 1863. Not long after leaving port, the SS Liverpool collided with the La Plata amid dense fog in St George's Channel. The Tin ingots were recovered from the wreck 138 years later and blended with other shipwreck tin and new tin for durability. Therefore, each piece holds a bit of Cornish history and culture from another era, making it all the more special.
The Heart pendant measures 7/16 inch across at its widest part and is on a sterling silver chain. Attractively gift boxed and includes a card with the Cornish Tin Shipwreck story. Made in the United Kingdom.
Tin is the traditional 10th Wedding Anniversary gift.
